Dry rot is a common cause of wood failure. This type of fungus destroys the wood’s structural integrity and causes it to rot. Dry rot can occur when wood is wet for a long time. Meanwhile, termites can go unnoticed until they cause catastrophic damage to your home. If left unaddressed, wood- destroying organisms like termites and dry rot can cause major structural damage.
In order to file for an insurance claim after your roof takes damage, most insurers require at least one inspection. While your insurer will typically send an inspector of their own, in order to gain the most accurate reports, it’s strongly encouraged you hire an inspector of your own who can offer an alternate point of view.

I was born and raised here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I’m a husband and father of four with two grandchildren. When I’m not busy crawling under homes you can usually find me in the outdoors somewhere or salmon fishing on the Columbia river in my families restored 1957 P-14.
The inspections industry was the most logical next step for me to “Evolve” to after years in the building trades. I love meeting new people and lending my expertise to help you make the most informed decision. “Bringing the builder to your inspection” is not only my slogan, it’s peace of mind.
Everyone involved, especially the buyers and sellers need to understand and know the condition of the property. Throughout our experiences, we have found it is imperative to communicate and work directly with the client to ensure they understand what is actually inspected and what is not.
Our job is to make sure the client understands all aspects of the inspection process, and we do not stop there. Should you have any questions or concerns after the report you are encouraged to give us a call and we will provide you with an explanation of the report and options to assist you in making a confident decision about your property.
